Configuring an ATEM Mini Pro/Extreme for streaming to COGWA TV

Installing ATEM Software Control

If you already have ATEM Software Control installed, you may skip this section.

You can install ATEM Software Control by downloading and installing the latest ATEM Switchers Update (not SDK) for your OS from here.

Once installed, verify that you can connect to your ATEM by making sure it's powered on, and connected to your computer via USB or on your network via an Ethernet cable. You may be prompted to update the firmware of your ATEM.

Configuring your ATEM

To properly configure the ATEM to stream to COGWA.TV, you'll need to replace the Streaming.xml file used by ATEM Software Control. To do that, you'll need to first download the new Streaming.xml file under "Using an ATEM?" in the Software Config section for your webcast on admin.cogwa.tv.

Once you have that file, you'll need to navigate to the location where the existing Streamming.xml file is located.

First, verify that ATEM Software Control is closed.

macOS

On macOS, you’ll find it at this location:

/Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/Switchers

In the menu bar with Finder open, select Go > Go to Folder and paste the above destination.

Windows

On Windows, you’ll find the Streaming.xml file at this location:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Blackmagic Design\Blackmagic ATEM Switchers\ATEM Software Control

Once you've located the Streaming.xml file on your OS, replace it by dragging and dropping the Streaming.xml you downloaded from admin.cogwa.tv. You may be prompted to put in the administrator password. This file adds a new COGWA TV platform and leaves everything else as is.

Once that's done, open ATEM Software Control and select the new Platform "COGWA TV". Select your congregation in the "Server" dropdown, then paste your Stream Name/Key in the "Key" field. Finally, select the Quality you can stream at and run a test stream to verify everything is configured properly.
